Reflection
A monologue is a kind of speech that goes to either an audience or to themselves. It is only 1 person speaking and it can usually be said in first person. It can also reveal something like inner thoughts or emotions or maybe even a secret. The way we had to write a monologue was that it had to relate certain themes that were shown in Macbeth, and so that made our monologue reveal a characteristic. The theme that I decided to use for my monologue from Macbeth was the theme of drive, because like in the story my character had a certain drive to harm or kill someone. In Macbeth one of the biggest themes was drive because the main character had a drive to reach his goal of becoming king, so he would do anything it took to do so. For my monologue I decided to team up with Jackson and we ended up creating a short 2 part monologue. I feel that my partner and I were very productive during the course of creating this story because we did take our time to create the perfect story line and a setup that made sense. We also would have to go back and forth when we were creating the story because there were many small details to work out. Jack and I were mainly on task because it really does take time to create a good flowing story. It might have seemed that we weren’t always on task due to the fact we were always working with other people around, but our story was part of another monologue.
